In May, I posted my list of the Ten Best Movie Dances Ever. At the top was a routine the Nicholas Brothers (Fayard and Harold) did in the 1943 Lena Horne vehicle, “Stormy Weather” (you can watch it and see the entire list here).

The other night, as I was scrolling through the channels on my TV, I came upon another one of their riveting dance scenes on TCM. This was from two years earlier, in the movie “Sun Valley Seranade,” starring Dorothy Dandridge, who sings and dances with them a little bit (in heels!) before getting out of the way so they could do their thing.

By the way, that’s the real Glenn Miller Orchestra playing its hit, “Chattanooga Choo-Choo,” as the Nicholas Brothers tap, flip, and do their signature splits…
