Yesterday, I wrote about seeing an MC Escher exhibit that takes up two floors at the St. Louis Chess Hall Of Fame, but I neglected to mention what’s on the third floor: a brief history of chess. It honors the greats of the game, past and present, with details of some of their most famous matches (yes, Bobby Fischer-Boris Spassky is highlighted).

It also has a section dedicated to girls in chess — an effort currently run by Jennifer Shahade, a grandmaster and two-time US women’s champion who guested on my radio show in 2015 (listen here) — and includes this inspiring video:
